This hitch played out much like our past hitches in the East Rosebud Trail. We began the week by re-enacting the same routine of blasting and moving rocks into the trail to be crushed, or to the side to create a trail border. This was primarily to widen the trail for Equestrian use.

After using up our emulsion sticks for the week, we spent time widening the hinge and backslope in certain sloped sections to make room for mules carrying panniers. We then moved into the main project for the week, which was deconstructing a temporary civilian campsite by picking the ground, and moving that dirt onto the trail we had previously built up with crush.

Overall, this hitch consisted of work both monotonous and exhausting, though necessary. It was a tough week for morale, but our tight-knit crew learned a lot about supporting and taking care of each other through the hardships and less glamorous hitches.
