We hiked among fields of purple Sticky Geranium,

Limbed trees beside the vibrant yellow Mule-Ears,

Dug drainages surrounded by the majestic Silvery Lupine.

We forded mountain streams to meet the elusive Yellow Columbine,

Greeted the red Indian Paintbrushes nestled in the shade of the quaking Aspens,

Lied in the presence of the violet Upland Larkspur for our morning breaks.

While we moved through the wild forests, mountains, and streams,

We were watched over by endless color,

As nature's hues reminded us to slow down,

And be grateful for the opportunity to be alive in such a beautiful place.
