After a long day of chainsawing, our project partner recommended some fun places to explore. We first decided to check out Twin Falls. After a two-mile hike there, we were running out of sunlight. Although we never made it to the waterfalls, we were able to find some cool things along the way. We noticed a toad right in front of us on the trail and decided to say hi to him. He was a pretty chill dude. We also meandered through the Great Bear Wilderness on that trail, which was my first time in a wilderness-designated setting. Among other cool spots we found in our time off included the Meadow Creek Gorge. A steep canyon carved by a small river teeming with trout, it was one of the coolest places I have ever seen. My time in Spotted Bear hanging out with pack mules and froggy friends was lovely and I can't wait to get back out there and work next week!
