At the end of the season, it's easy to look back and wonder how your skills have grown and changed. Many crews don't get the chance to go back where they started and be able to see their first hitch's work, see how their hiking has gotten faster, be able to use the skills they used throughout the season to improve the trail, etc. Our crew was one of the lucky few who was able to go back to the same trail at the start and end of the season to see our growth. Being able to see a trail go from a trail lost to burns and floods to a beautiful pathway through a canyon painted with the colors of fall, to then covered in a blanket of snow really made it feel that we saw this trail through all seasons. Our time on South Sixmile may have been limited, but the memories we made there will be in our hearts forever. Cheers to a great season. |
