Honing Our Tread In The Leadership Development Program - Northern Rockies

corps crew members use a pulaski to level a muddy trail

After a month of presentations and trainings in the Leadership Development Program (LDP), our Northern Rockies field crew leaders were jazzed to get out in the backcountry and clean up some of our nearby hiking trails. We spent the last two days learning how to get our hands dirty and clean up the Grambauer Mountain Trail in Kootenai Natl. Forest, which suffered a sizeable amount of blowdowns over the winter and needed some attention.

My crew of Mia, Jenna, Annmarie, and Garret worked with tread guru Fernando to transform some mucky, rootballed areas of the trail into a level and pristine hike up Grambauer. Great leadership, laughter, and work was exhibited, and we are all incredibly excited to preserve and protect our beloved Montana mountains in the season ahead.

Onwards & upwards!
