Connecting Trail W/ Wyoming Pathways

A view on a dirt trail

This hitch, we completed a reroute of the Decoster Trail off of private property. This involved connecting two parts of the trail and digging out a whole new trail. When working, it is easy for me to get away from the present moment and think of home. My friends and the lingo I’ve stolen from them are being reused all the way out here. Picking the journalist role this week and trying to write something clever for my mom to read (hi Mom! Love ya!). We did a Compass lesson discussing our skills and what possible career futures fit us the most. I wonder if I will end up doing what any of my crewmates suggested. It is also important to feel present where we are working. I know in the future I will look back fondly on swinging tools and the songs I listened to while in the forest and mountains. Telling future friends about the Montana Conservation Corps and all the people I’ve met through it! :)
