Lava Creek In Yellowstone

Crew members take a photo with their heads in a circle, with the camera below.

For hitch 8, we finally got to take our turn in Yellowstone National Park. Several years ago, the Lava Creek trail was devastated by flooding, but that was no match for our savvy crew of trail specialists. Over the course of the eight days, we got to sharpen our benching skills, pushing back lots of trail with gnarly outslope. We rerouted many sections of the trail that were at risk of falling into the river on our side. We cleared lots of corridors to allow hikers to experience this now accessible trail with great comfort.

In our free time, we frequented the Mammoth general store to get ice cream, which was just a short drive from our campsite at Mammoth campground. We celebrated Chris' 30th birthday in a fun fashion by taking a dinner trip to get pizza in Gardner. All in all, we had a great hitch.
