Field Program

[Image Description: Two MCC members taking a brief break; one is sitting on a rock, the other is standing nearby. They are both in their uniforms, looking out at the expansive, mountain view surrounding them.]

Bend it like Bechler

Crew members walking down a trail in the middle of a grassy field

9 miles walking
In to our camp
Wall tents and sleep
"This ground is damp"

The brightest of moonlight
Peaks over the mount
And dampens the view
Of more stars than I can count

Up early and walking
To go skin our logs
And saw them and haul them
Down through the bogs

Where we put them in place
Digging deep through the stone
But each rock we find
Is one not to be thrown

Away, swing away
Down into the ground
And then put the log in
"We still need to go down"

Then we set it in snug
With rocks of all sizes
And we save the dirt
As the best of our prizes

For after our toils
To which there were many
We rebuild the tread
Without notice from any

We disperse the scrap
We fluff up the grass
We scattered the sawn
"Man, We kicked @zz!"

And now we move on,
As yet another project is done
We thank you for the thank you's
From each and every one.
