Up, Up, Up, and Away

Found people stand on a ridgeline, smiling towards the camera.

In the Western Wildlands Immersion Crew, the trail Moose Ridge has gained a reputation for being “a trail straight outa your nightmares”. Gaining 3,000ft in only three short miles the trail brought beauty and pain. For our three-person crew and guest FC Chris Gaye the three miles up to Grizzly Saddle only took us 10 hours with 9-day packs and an arsenal of crosscut saws and axes. The crew spent the remainder of hitch clearing over 500 trees and seeing the beautiful sights of the entire Bitterroot mountain range. A hitch my crew loved the most and will most likely never forget. Its reputation stands within our crew, but if you put your mind to it you can do it.
