Well, it's finally here! The 2023 season is coming to an end. The journey here has been full of laughs and hardships, all of which have helped us grow as people. A year ago I didn't even know what a pulaski was, now I can teach people how to use this tool to build a trail that will last for decades to come.
Speaking of decades, what better way is there to wrap up an AmeriCorps term than to work with Don Galvin, one of MCC's longest-running project partners? It was an honor to continue the work of past field crews and lay the foundations for future projects. For slightly more than a week, my crew spent time building jackleg fencing, installing new gates, cleaning up litter, and painting those classic trail signs. Although we won't be working together on any more hitches, I'm proud of my crew and I'll never forget the memories we made together.
