Hitch #10 Fencework in Winnett

A line of MCC rigs parked alongside a lake.

Hitch #10 was a great way to start wrapping up the season. Our second hitch was fence work on the prairie so it only made sense that our second to last hitch was the same type of work in a similar location. We had the pleasure of sharing our campsite with two BDA crews. Sharing campsites always provides a fun insight into how other crews' dynamics are. We completed approximately 2.5 miles of wildlife-friendly fence alteration including close to 1 mile of completely new fence. Rolling neat piles of barbed wire and getting into the rhythm of tensioning and clipping fresh wire really made us appreciate the surrounding prairie and the rolling hills. Camping at Petrolia Lake gave us pretty sunsets/sunrises and great views of the full moon reflecting on the water. Our project partners were very diligent as well as accommodating, and overall great people.
