Hitch #7 Turnpike in Polaris

Crew members stand in a field. There are logs and gravel constructed into a turnpike stretching down the middle of the frame.

Our 7th hitch was easygoing and enjoyable. It was our first hitch with our new fall member. We had the pleasure of using a forest service cabin's amenities. Although we did not sleep in the cabin, we had access to multiple fridges, a freezer, and an oven/stovetop. We completed a second turnpike that was started the previous hitch. A few days were spent just gathering dirt and making rocks. Some of the work was monotonous but it made us appreciate the simplicity that comes with construction sometimes. After the turnpike, we did some retread and reroutes for an old trail. Everyone had a good time getting into the groove of treadwork. The weather was nice most days although it did rain towards the end but nothing too bad. Overall a great hitch with a new member.
