For the past 8 days, we, the NPS crew of the Woman's Fire and Fuel, settled into our new office for the summer. Despite having to share our campground with loud neighbors including coyotes howling at all hours of the night, we made Gros Ventre our comfortable abode. Many mornings were spent de-icing tents, and many evenings securing our meals from the winds inside our reliable truck. As for work, we learned to construct mighty piles of wood for future prescribed burning. All in all, we got the engine roaring and cannot wait to be back to plow into this summer's work full steam.
