Crew #2 in Shoshone National Forest

A crew works on a trail to remove blasted rock

It's nearing the end of the season for MCC crews and our crew kicked off one of our last hitches in the Shoshone National Forest. We spent the week in a beautiful area near Adam's Pass at around 11,000 feet elevation. Our assignment included a mile long trail that was cleared by a trained group of individuals using blasters (wilderness safe explosives) to blow large rocks away from the trail. Our part of the process came after the blasting was done as we cleared out the exploded rock matter and remodeled the trail so that stock, outfitters, and backpackers alike could hike through with greater ease and have a much more memorable experience in that beautiful area of the Shoshone Wilderness area.
