Shannon O'Healaigh - Field Coordinator
Shannon's love for wild places is easily observed. You can find her both working and playing in our great public lands. As a trail crew lead, Shannon spent three seasons working in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. From her time of leading adjudicated youth on expeditions in the Everglades to her years spent as a river guide, Shannon brings a diverse skillset to the team at Western Wildlands. Her enthusiasm for leadership development and passion for wilderness work is indefatigable. Next time you find yourself on the river, look around, there's a good chance Shannon is somewhere close by.
I was raised in South Bend, Indiana. I’ve been camping since I was a baby, going on road trips across the country with my family visiting different national parks. I attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where I got a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science. I spent a semester of college in the mountains in Southern Oregon, which is where I fell in love with the western states and fostered my passion for land stewardship.
