Axyl Shores - Field Coordinator
Axyl grew up in Denver, Colorado, where he started his lifetime love and eventual career in conservation work. Working for the Greenway Foundation's South Platte River Environmental Education Youth Summer Camp, Axyl discovered his passion for education, and service based learning opportunities. His work with the Greenway Leadership Corps furthered this belief, and gave him practical skills he would later return back to as he ventured into the realm of leadership focused and labor based conservation. After spending his first Americorps season (2023) with the Maine Conservation Corps, he ventured west in search of a greater challenge, being a Field Crew Leader with the Montana Conservation Corps (2024). It was on Green Mountain that his obsession with field work and leadership development opportunities became enlightened. When he is not working, he spends his time at home cooking and relaxing with his partner. He spends his winters baking, cooking and barristaing at a local cafe.
