Mary Erickson | Bozeman, MT

Over a 40-year career with the U.S. Forest Service, Mary has served in a wide range of roles across Oregon, Utah, and Montana—from analyst/economist, to planner, District Ranger, Deputy Forest Supervisor, and Forest Supervisor. For the past 16 years, she was Forest Supervisor for the Custer Gallatin National Forest, bringing together diverse stakeholders to manage and steward some of the Northern Rockies’ most iconic landscapes. She has experience navigating bedrock environmental laws, agency policies and regulations, and agency culture.
Mary is passionate about public lands and believes in the power of young leaders. “MCC’s mission to build leadership capacity and work skills in young people is critical to fostering necessary understanding and support that will sustain public lands into the future,” she says.
Mary hopes to bring a seasoned public-sector perspective to MCC’s strategic direction and help strengthen its role as a trusted partner in conservation work across Montana and the region.
