Shelbi St. Goddard | Tribal Partnerships Liaison

Okii (Hello), I’m Shelbi St. Goddard! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the Montana Conservation Corps as the Tribal Partnerships Liaison. It’s truly an honor! After two rewarding summers as the Piikuni Lands Crew Field Coordinator, I’m stepping into the Liaison role with a heart full of passion. As a proud Blackfeet Indigenous woman, my cultural heritage drives my commitment to environmental stewardship.

My passion for environmental stewardship was ignited by a combination of factors. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Montana, witnessing the interconnectedness of ecosystems, and learning the teachings of Blackfeet that are passed down through generations emphasized my responsibility to care for the land, water, and all living beings. I explored through my education the complexities of ecological systems, climate change, and conservation strategies.

Now, as the Tribal Partnerships Liaison at the MCC, I am committed to expanding tribal conservation opportunities, advocating for traditional ecological practices, and empowering emerging leaders across Tribal Nations. It’s a calling for me—a way to honor my heritage, contribute to a healthier Mother Earth, and inspire others to do the same.
