Peter Rody - Field Coordinator

Peter’s roots began in Colorado, where he was raised in the foothills west of Denver and discovered the natural world during adventures in the Rocky Mountain High Country. Upon escaping high school, he left the country with no intention of following a traditional, college educational path, however, his passion for the environment eventually led him back to academic pursuits. After completing a Wilderness Medical program at Colorado Mountain College, he finished his degree in Environmental Geoscience at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Peter spent his college summers working on a youth corps chainsaw crew in Colorado, and in Southeast Alaska as a tour guide where he fell in love with the incredible coastal wilderness. After graduation, he accepted a Forest Service Crew Lead post in Cordova, Alaska. He followed up with a Forest Service post in Montana, Idaho, and Washington monitoring stream habitats and discovered a passion for watershed restoration. After an AmeriCorps term with Feather River Land Trust in California, Peter accepted the MCC Field Coordinator position in the Northern Rockies where he hopes to find his community and some roots. In his free time, Peter can be found in the woods inexplicably standing in a stream, on a mountain bike, skis, or his own feet, or working on a creative woodworking project.
