Kelsey Aerni - Field Coordinator
Originally from Northern Kentucky, Kelsey received a B.S. in Human Health Sciences from the University of Kentucky. Post-graduation, she traveled through Europe and then moved in 2018 to Northwest Montana for a Crew Leader position with MCC. She spent her season in the backcountry of the Bob Marshall Wilderness and found a passion for the great outdoors and primitive techniques. That following winter she moved down to Northeast New Mexico for a Work Crew Foreman position with Philmont Scout Ranch. While she enjoyed the new desert scenery, the Flathead Valley was calling her back. All the way back to Spotted Bear Ranger Station to work for the US Forest Service as a Forestry Technician on a Wilderness Trails Crew in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. After her season there she took a few months off to go back East to visit family, and after that, found herself walking back through the doors of MCC as a Field Coordinator. Kelsey enjoys all kinds of adventures, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, hiking, and backpacking. And looks forward to this opportunity to serve her community and public lands and to inspire young adults to do the same.
