Collin Ahlemeier - Field Coordinator
Born and raised in the small town of Huntingburg, Indiana, Collin spent his time watching movies, goofing off with his friends, and working in the family restaurant. After a series of random jobs, from radio DJ to baseball scorekeeper, he attended a small college just south of Indianapolis and transferred to University of Kentucky, playing in bands and studying everything from music to sociology, before graduating with dual degrees in Economics and General Business. Moving back to Indianapolis on a whim and working a sales job for one day, he decided he couldn’t sit still. He found a volunteer position with American Conservation Experience Asheville, NC in 2018 working on a variety of projects, from historical restoration to carpentry, in a variety of locations, from New Jersey to Kansas. He worked up to a crew lead position before joining the trail crew in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. He realized after two seasons with the park he missed the communal aspect of conservation corps, so he joined Montana Conservation Corps as a lead in 2022 and returned as a staff crew lead in 2023 in the Central Divide region. When he is not working outdoors, Collin enjoys watching movies, playing disc golf, listening to 90’s punk, and filling in whenever someone needs a bass player.
