Welcome to the MCC Blog

Good Bye, Laken

Two men with dust on their faces scrunch their faces at the camera.

Once again I'm joining you from the famous Green Mountain via the Spotted Bear repeater. Crew number 4 is hitting a stride and digging more efficiently than ever, but there is a cloud over this grimy group. Their energizer bunny, Laken Ferrell, is moving on to bigger things after this hitch. The guy that makes dubstep with his mouth at 6 am and performs 100 pistol squats per leg after a 9-hour work day is going to be graduating from the MCC in a few short days.

The crew is disappointed, but they know a guy like Laken can't stay in one place for too long, and he needs to get a jump start on his expansive list of life goals. The guy with the stories and no tent at tech week 10 weeks ago grew into an integral part of this crew. It's going to be tough, but this is a resilient bunch and they will find a new way to find some pep at 3:30pm. Laken got them half way to the summit, and now this rag tag bunch needs to bring it the last mile home over the next month and a half. Laken better come pick everybody up in his sail boat next year like he said. Signing off: Gray.
