We embarked on an ambitious challenge; plant over one thousand plants in the Pompey’s Pillar National Monument. Our objective: plant a variety of native plants to aid in returning the desecrated land to a lush, natural ecosystem. Through brutal heat, savage mosquitoes, and thieving winds, we persevered. With surprising efficiency. We finished our daunting task in two and a half days. We took fields that once were infested with weeds and converted the land into a diverse, thriving ecosystem that will last for generations to come.
