"Not a bad office" is a phrase that I never want to hear again, but fear that it will be a theme of the upcoming season. The crew worked hard on the Kootenai Falls trail in Northwestern Montana, which is a local favorite and sees lots of traffic every day. While interactions with the public during the workday are great, the number of times that "Not a bad office" was said by the crew to a passerby who commented on how lucky we were to be able to do this for work numbered in the millions. What started as a quick response ended up becoming the meme of the hitch, and slowly but surely we began to respond "Not a bad office" to questions like "How long have you been out here?" or "So are you all volunteers?"
All jokes aside, the trail itself definitely looked like it was heavily used, and our crew worked hard to clean it up. We had fun during breaks while overlooking great views of the water and the surrounding area. Seen here is a lunchtime nap on the Grambauer Mountain Trail in Libby, MT where the crew spent the last day of hitch clearing downed trees.
